Central NY Mobile Marketing Announces 3rd Annual Free Website Opportunity for Area Non-Profit

CNY-Logo1OTSEGO COUNTY, NY (10/16/13): Central New York Mobile Marketing (CNYMM), a local business providing online marketing services, recognizes the need for our area non-profits to promote their organizations through attractive, effective and functional websites.  As an organization’s online identity, a website is one of the most critical pieces of the marketing mix.  It is one of the first things that people see when they search for services, information and how to get involved.

With the ever-increasing competition for dollars, our local non-profits struggle with budget priorities.  Marketing investments are often one of the first areas cut or significantly scaled back since they are not typically seen as directly supporting the organization’s mission or the community they serve.   “In some ways, marketing defies logic – the greater the need for increased support actually supports the need for a greater investment in marketing”, according to CNYMM owner, Ms. Susan O’Handley.

Ms. O’Handley understands the importance of marketing through administrative positions with a number of environmental organizations throughout her career, through her role as former Executive Director for the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce, and as co-owner of her own businesses – Wildlife Learning Company and now Central NY Mobile Marketing.  “I feel as though I have a good mix of perspectives and insight about marketing overall as a result of my experiences, but online and digital technology is the area that I get really excited about.  I’m a self-professed ‘gadget girl’ and enjoy coming up with tech applications that solve problems for businesses”, continued O’Handley.

Since beginning operations in January of 2012, Central NY Mobile Marketing has donated one website per year to a local non-profit organization: 2012’s recipient was Susquehanna SPCA in Cooperstown, NY; 2013’s recipient was Delaware-Otsego Audubon Society.  These non-profits were selected based on the need of the organization without any public participation.  In 2013, the recipients will be nominated and voted for by members of the community.

Liz Mackey, Executive Director for the Susquehanna SPCA commented with strong support for the business: “Central NY Mobile Marketing has been such a great asset to our organization.  Susan is very knowledgeable and available for support whenever called upon.  We would highly recommend her!”  Similarly, Andy Mason, Co-President for Delaware Otsego Audubon Society stated, “Susan O’Handley gave the website a big overhaul, adding graphics and features that rival any I have seen. Susan is a professional who did this valuable work gratis, and largely out of view. We thank her for sharing her talents so generously.”
